seeking a skilled and motivated Integration Engineer to join our
integration team dedicated to supporting OnePay, a Synchrony
partner serving millions of customers in a new, first-of-its-kind
credit card program for Walmart.In this role, you will act as a
technical leader within the agile team, contributing hands-on
expertise to design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable
integration solutions supporting the OnePay partnership.Working
closely with architects, product owners, program managers, and
engineers, you will ensure that API performance, security, and
interoperability between Synchrony and OnePay systems are
optimized. You will help guide technical activities on the team,
foster best practices, and collaborate to deliver high-quality
integration solutions.This position offers an excellent opportunity

events.Essential Responsibilities:Serve as a technical leader
within the OnePay Integration Agile team for development,
deployment, and support of APIs and partner system interfaces.Lead
the team’s efforts in designing and implementing reliable, scalable
integration solutions that align with architectural principles and
enterprise standards.Drive technical delivery deadlines and ensure
high-quality outcomes across all integration projects and
releases.Collaborate with product managers, senior architects, and
external partners (OnePay) to translate business requirements into
well-defined technical tasks.Promote best practices around API
development, security, error handling, and performance tuning
within the agile team.Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and
support to engineers on the Integration team, facilitating
knowledge sharing, skill development, and team growth.Take
ownership of continuous improvement initiatives by identifying and
championing innovations in integration architectures, tooling, and
development processes.Participate in defining and refining CI/CD
pipelines, code repository management, and testing automation to
enhance delivery velocity and quality.Proactively monitor and
address API reliability and availability issues, driving root cause
analysis, preventive measures, and operational excellence.Help
evolve integration patterns and tools to improve system
interoperability and partner collaboration.Document architectural
decisions, integration flows, and technical designs to support
ongoing team operations and knowledge retention.Contribute actively
to Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning,
retrospectives) to ensure aligned, high-performing teamwork.Perform
other duties or special projects as assigned by the AVP, Solution
Architect, or Agile
leadershipQualifications/Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Computer
Science or related field AND at least 4 years’ experience across
multiple IT areas OR 8 years’ experience across multiple IT areas
(in lieu of degree)Proven experience developing, deploying, and
supporting RESTful APIs and microservices with Java Spring Boot or
equivalent frameworks.Hands-on expertise with testing tools and
frameworks such as JUnit, Postman, or JMeter.Familiarity with
front-end JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React JS, Angular JS) is
advantageous.Practical experience with cloud platforms and PaaS
environments like AWS or Pivotal Cloud Foundry.Working knowledge of
API management tools such as Apigee or similar
platforms.Demonstrated understanding of secure API design
principles and scalable, resilient architectures.Strong
communication skills with the ability to translate technical
concepts to diverse audiences.Experience working in Agile Scrum or
Kanban teams, and comfortable playing a technical leadership role
within the team.Ability and flexibility to travel for business as
requiredDesired Characteristics:Exposure to fintech or payment
systems integration, particularly related to credit card or
consumer financing products.Strong problem-solving abilities
combined with a proactive and solution-focused mindset.Ability to
mentor and uplift the capabilities of peers in a collaborative,
team-oriented environment.Familiarity with API gateways and best
practices for secure, scalable & reliable API deploymentsCritical
thinking, creativity, and a solution-driven mindsetEagerness to
stay current on emerging technologies and industry trends relevant
to API integrations and cloud solutions.Experience with
event-driven architectures and message-based integrations is a
plus.Grade/Level: 10 The salary range for this position is
100,000.00 – 170,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual
bonus based on individual and company performance.Actual
compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based
upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.Salaries are
adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and
Seattle.Eligibility Requirements:You must be 18 years or olderYou
must have a high school diploma or equivalentYou must be willing to
take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit
fingerprints as part of the onboarding processYou must be able to
satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit
Insurance Act.New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of
continuous service with the company before they are eligible to
post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position
requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’
time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.
Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time
in position before they can post. All internal employees must
consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from
your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you
