Nursing Instructor (Clinical Educator) Description At Chattanooga
College , the Practical Nursing (LPN) Department helps implement
our strategy of providing career-oriented degree programs that make
a big difference in the healthcare community . The Adjunct Clinical
Nursing Instructor will provide clinical instruction and
educational support to students enrolled in the Practical Nursing
(LPN) program to support student learning, skill development, and
successful program completion. This includes responsibilities such
as delivering clinical instruction, supporting curriculum
objectives, evaluating student performance, and fostering a safe,
engaging, and supportive learning environment. Ideal candidates
must have strong interpersonal, communication, and instructional
skills and a passion for educating future nurses. Candidates must
be adaptable, student-focused, and able to manage the
responsibilities of clinical teaching in a dynamic healthcare
environment. This is an instructional (adjunct faculty) position
supporting the Practical Nursing (LPN) Department . This role
requires significant interaction with students, faculty, and
clinical site personnel through direct clinical supervision,
instruction, and evaluation. Adjunct Clinical Instructors are
expected to possess extensive knowledge of nursing practice,
clinical competencies, and educational best practices. They must be
able to interpret individual student learning needs, provide
constructive feedback, and work effectively with students who may
be stressed or challenged in clinical settings. Employees in this
role can expect to teach and support students in clinical
environments, guide students in applying theory to practice, assist
with professional development as future nurses, and promote safe
and ethical nursing practice. This position requires maintaining
confidentiality and accurate records to ensure compliance with
accreditation standards, institutional policies, and applicable

with experience / Adjunct pay structure Responsibilities Provides
clinical instruction and supervision to a diverse population of
Practical Nursing (LPN) students. Creates and maintains a clinical
learning environment that is engaging, supportive, and aligned with
program outcomes. Evaluates student clinical performance and
provides timely, constructive feedback. Implements program and
departmental objectives related to student learning, progression,
and completion. Educates students on clinical policies, procedures,
professional standards, and expectations. Maintains accurate
documentation of student performance in compliance with
institutional, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborates with nursing faculty and department leadership to
ensure curriculum consistency and quality. Maintains current
knowledge of clinical practices, nursing education standards, and
regulatory guidelines. Supports students by identifying learning
challenges and providing guidance or referrals as appropriate.
Upholds confidentiality and complies with institutional policies,
accreditation standards, and federal regulations. Completes
required professional development, training, and compliance
requirements annually. Demonstrates professionalism and serves as a
positive role model for nursing students. Participates in
departmental meetings or activities as required for adjunct
faculty. Maintains required licensure and certifications, including
BLS. Collaborates with the Director of Nursing and departmental

fast-paced clinical environments Education & Experience Education
or Training: • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
Experience: • Minimum of four (4) years of clinical nursing
experience Other Requirements • Active, unencumbered Registered
Nurse (RN) license eligible to practice in Tennessee • Current
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification • Ability to commit to an
entire clinical course schedule (Mondays, Wednesdays, or both;
