Job Title: RN Clinical Perioperative Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Registered Nurse - Inpatient Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Less than 1 year preferred License: RN - Reg Nurse Certifications: BLS - Basic Life Support Must-Have: - Ability to read, write, and speak the English language - Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer service skills - Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in a decisive, composed, and respectful manner - Excellent time management skills - Ability to practice nursing using evidence and analytical skills - Strong critical thinking skills Description: The RN Clinical Perioperative Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team. The nurse ensures that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care. They practice in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and other leaders. The framework for practice is supported through evidence-based practice and research. RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by core competencies. All RN Clinical Nurses are licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Professional Nurse Practice Act. They implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards as defined by the Nursing Association. As a member of the patient services team, the nurse upholds the voice of the patient and system policies. They also support service excellence goals. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: The nurse performs the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation). They use evidence-based practice and ensure that care is individualized. Coordinating care through effective partnerships recognizes that caring is central to achieving optimal patient care outcomes. The nurse provides relationship-based, patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics. Professional Development and Initiative: The nurse completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and required education.
