Job Description:

We are seeking (2) Cost Controller to work a Hybrid contract position in Chattanooga, TN.

Role Summary
Responsible to develop cost effective overhead cost strategy with board level department leadership of key VW support groups. The successful candidate for this role will forecast, account and report the assigned area overhead cost. Analyze business cases and requests with relation to total operational financial targets, etc. Properly summarize their impact to the financial statements (actual vs. budget, forecast, multi-year planning round). Area of Responsibility greater than 30 MUSD

Qualifications
Required

• 
  
• 5 years of professional work experience in Cost Controller in a Manufacturing setting
  
• 4 year Bachelor s Degree in Accounting/Finance or Engineering
  
• Comprehensive knowledge of SAP R/3 or similar ERP system (Purchasing, Logistics, Finance, Payroll)
  
• Advanced skill level in manipulating massive amounts of multi-dimensional data using database tools with complex table joins, across multiple systems

  • Master s Degree in Accounting/Finance or Engineering , or MBA
    
  • Working knowledge of VW efficiency processes including Massnahmen@Web
    
  • CPA
    
  • German language fluency
    
  • Experience with advanced analytical tools such as TM1, Board, or other similar systems
    
    Role Responsibilities
    
    
    • 
      
    • Develop cost effective strategy with assigned departments director and management level leadership that achieves overall organizational financial objectives
      
    • Drive and create productivity and cost improvements in conjunction with assigned area s leadership
      
    • Define detailed bottom-up resource requirements by account, by cost center, by major activity/contract; maintain & reconcile change points
      
    • Research and analyze content of operational requests; confirm proper accounting treatment and evaluate requests considering detailed budgets; prepare recommendations to the Cost Committee
      
    • Monitor invoice activity in assigned cost centers/orders; develop monthly accruals for major activities/contracts; support audit requests
      
    • Create transparent cost reconciliations for a myriad of comparisons such as budget vs. actual, prior year vs. current year, commitments vs. actual, etc.
      
    • Develop strategic insightful financial reports and reconciliations to enhance Plant Management s understanding of financial performance
      
    • Drive Plant Board efforts to optimize costs; participate in generation of ideas; track and confirm actual cost savings post-implementation
      
    • Align data into results for a wide network of stakeholders with different interests (VW Board, Chattanooga Plant Management, Chattanooga finance, Chattanooga Dept subject matter experts)
      
    • Provide technical and project management support to financial specialists to successfully achieve deadlines
      
    • Other duties as assigned by and approved by management
