Job Title: Database Analyst/Programmer
Duration: 24 Months
Location: East Peoria, IL
Job Description:
Position will contribute to the understanding, implementation, and
flow of data through manufacturing processes. This position will
work alongside developers, customers, and digital architect to
bring data to the platform through ETL or SQL development. This
role will focus on developing and maintaining the governance frame
to ensure the platform is secure, data accurate, high quality and
efficient. The position will notify the programmers and end users
of gaps of data that would disallow the ability to produce a
distinct metric. The position will work alongside the Enterprise
Factory Data Lake team to ingest and withdraw information allowing
the US Drivetrain Digital team to integrate and work with the data
lake data as well as pass information back. The position will also
contribute to Power BI and report generation and automation. The
position will be considered a subject matter expert in data types
that are either categorical or continuous when discussing metric
related needs
Typical Day
A typical day will involve process planning, process
implementation, debugging and metric generation. This will include
meeting with stakeholders and documenting requirements. This
position will identify any data gaps as well as inform the team of
redundancies or inefficiencies. This is an on-site full-time
position- no remote work.
Education Requirements:
Bachelor''s degree in computer programming or equivalent training
required w/ 2-4 years of experience required.
Associate''s w/ 5-7 years of experience required; Certificates from
reputable MOOC/bootcamp, or experience with publicly accessible
portfolio examples like GitHub or other git-based repositories
Technical Skills
Competent to perform all necessary ETL (data extraction,
transformation, and loading) related task which could include
request data access, setup data connection, develop/improve/test
ETL procedures, schedule/monitoring ETL scheduled jobs and respond
to issues.
Work with application/report developers to support project
planning, training, guidance on standards, and the efficient
creation/maintenance of high-quality data.
Maintain, execute, and monitor data platform governance
procedure.
Respond to issues in access control, data quality control, database
structure standard and resource usages.
Contribute to standard procedures, standard works, continues
improvement of data quality, data security and efficiency, as well
as technical requirements.
Develop reports, queries, and other data centric application to
support business customers or database governance requirements.
Skilled in SQL and stored procedures
Skilled in Java-script, Python or Powershell
Skilled in Git
Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, data
modeling, and data architecture concepts. Strong database design
knowledge and can apply data normalization in table design. Strong
skill in query performance turning.
