We are currently seeking a Plant Engineering Manager for our team in Charleston, TN.What you will do:As part of the Plant Engineering team, this position works in partnership with the Deposition, H2 Recovery, and Analytics teams to execute plant goals and objectives. This position will provide technical support and engineering services to operations and service units as necessary to provide for safe operations and assure regulatory compliance and availability of production units and/or infrastructure and utility systems.Managerial DutiesManage and/or support Project Team with capital invest and expense type projectsManage capital investment and technical expense budgetGuide team of engineers in the design, ongoing maintenance, and repair of unit assets per applicable RAGAGEP and past experience.Assure regulatory compliance of production unitsCoordinate and manage responsibilities and workload between plant process engineers assigned to the respective plant area, holding accountability for team adherence to priorities set by Sr. ManagerLead, develop, and evaluate plant process engineers assigned to the respective plant area.Specialized DutiesAssure availability of production units at required capacity and qualitySupport process and technology transfer/exchange between Wacker's Polysilicon production sitesCooperate with groups and individuals within the Engineering & Maintenance department, Operations, and other service units with focus on achieving optimal results/solutions from a corporate/enterprise perspective (both interdisciplinary and intercultural)Act as lead interface/partner with Operations counterpart, negotiating resource loading and agreement on urgencies vs prioritiesWork closely with area EIC Engineering Manager to ensure appropriate EIC support/prioritiesConduct and/or coordinate troubleshooting activitiesDrive and support continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, and costDevelop and/or support development of specifications, standards, and policiesRepresent Wacker's interests towards authorities, suppliers, and contractorsCompile and provide reports related to area of responsibilityEnsure all required trainings are timely made by all team members in his/her area of responsibility.All other tasks as assignedWhat we need from you:Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering field (Mechanical, Chemical, etc.) is required7+ years of plant/reliability/maintenance engineering industryWacker engineering experience will be valued at 1.5 times industry experience7+ years of combined professional experience in the field of plant engineering, maintenance, and project management3+ years relevant engineering leadership experienceProven track record of leading cooperation between engineering, maintenance, and operations departments in an industrial settingStrong organization skills, with proven systems to track and communicate on multiple prioritiesAbility to perform and succeed in an environment of schedule and cost pressureCapability to professionally deal with changing priorities and requirementsThorough technical knowledge in the fields of chemical and mechanical engineering, incl. relevant regulations, maintenance strategies, standards, and codesExperience with OSHA PSM-covered systems and processesLeadership skills combined with team player attitudeObjective judgment and fact-based decision-making approachStrong multitasking competencyAbility and willingness for domestic and international (mainly to Germany) travelLife at Wacker:Wacker is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
