Job DescriptionSummer Program StaffJob DescriptionRoleThe Youth
Development Specialist provides direct instruction and supervision
for children enrolled in the Boys & Girls ClubsEducation and
Experience-Must be 18 years of age-Must be able to read and write
effectively- Must possess a high school diploma or
equivalentQualifications and Characteristics1. Performs duties
under general supervision with a high degree of initiative and good
judgment.2. Must be detailed.3. Must be able to work cooperatively
and collaboratively with children, parents, staff, teachers,
principals, site directors, and program directors.4. Must follow
through with oral and written instructions5. Must possess adequate
visual, auditory, and motor skills in order to take care of
children.6. Must exhibit tact and understanding when dealing with
children, parents, and system personnel.Essential Duties:1. Plans
and implements daily and weekly activities for a group of club
members.2. Assists the Unit director in the daily operation of the
program site3. Assists in maintaining daily attendance reports and
other clerical tasks.4. Assists in distribution and maintenance of
equipment5. Assists in the parent drop off and pick up of members6.
Assumes responsibilities as assigned by the Unit Director7.
Enrichment activities will be included8. May be required to drive a
Club van periodically9. May consult with parents concerning a
member and branch issues10. Must attend all mandatory staff
meetings and training
