PURPOSE: Provides technical support, creates new programs, and
researches new avenues of technological improvement and advancement
for all automated systems. The junior programmer will also test and
debug source code, provide onsite technical support and field
service for customers.
JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES):
- Assist more senior programmers with writing and debugging
effective and safe control programs that meet the requirements of
the end user and the expectations of Tennessee Rand.
- Maintain the quality of equipment shipped.
- Follow Tennessee Rand Build Standards and Tennessee Rand
Technical Guidelines, including deviation lists that may be
provided to allow for customer specifications or requirements.
- Assist more senior programmers with control programming of
equipment and tooling to ensure completeness, safety, and

- Meet requirements for internal runoffs, safety inspections, and
other quality control procedures.
- Clear communications with Project Management staff and
supervisors on issues that may come up.

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics, Electro-Mechanical
Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or
equivalent. An Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering,
Computer Science, or equivalent with experience will be

- Excellent communications skills
- Advanced C, C++ or Java Programming Skills
- Proficient with RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000 and
FactoryTalk View Studio
- Advanced PC Based Computer Skills
- Experience with Motoman, Fanuc, Panasonic, and/or ABB
