Description and Classification Standards: Performs various and
diverse administrative and/or project duties depending on specific
department and job assignment. This position assists with office
functions such as planning, information gathering, and community
engagement. This title is typically assigned to someone attending
college who is interning to gain more experience and knowledge of a
specific function in municipal government. Supervision Received:
Works under direct supervision and follows standardized procedures
and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.
Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities: These are
typical responsibilities for this position and should not be
construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Position Overview The Data
Strategy & Innovation Intern will support the team’s efforts to
modernize and streamline internal systems that support permitting
and operational workflows. This role offers hands-on experience in
digital transformation initiatives, including assisting with the
deployment of new platforms, documenting existing systems, and
helping identify opportunities to improve efficiency across the
organization. The intern will work closely with project managers,
technical staff, and operational teams to support the rollout of
Oracle OPAL for permitting while also helping develop a
comprehensive portfolio of the organization’s current systems and
tools. Key Responsibilities Oracle OPAL Deployment Support Assist
the team in coordinating tasks related to the implementation and
rollout of Oracle OPAL for permitting processes Support
documentation of workflows, user requirements, and implementation
milestones Help track deployment progress, meeting notes, and
action items Assist with organizing training materials and user
adoption resources Systems Portfolio Development Conduct research
and documentation of existing internal systems, applications, and
tools used across departments Help build and maintain a centralized
portfolio or inventory of organizational systems Assist in
identifying potential redundancies, overlaps, and gaps across
platforms Contribute to visualizations, summaries, or reports that
help the team understand the current technology landscape
Operational & Project Logistics Support scheduling, coordination,
and documentation for project meetings and stakeholder sessions
Help track deliverables and assist with project management tasks
Organize materials, data, and documentation related to innovation
initiatives Learning Opportunities Through this internship,
students will gain exposure to: Digital transformation and
government/organizational modernization efforts Technology
implementation and change management Data strategy and systems
mapping Cross-departmental collaboration and project management
practices May perform other duties as assigned. The above

Qualifications : Education and Experience – Pursuing an Associate's
or Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline for the
department in which person is an intern (Equivalent professional
experience may be considered for substitution for the required
degree on an exception basis) . This job requires mandatory in
office work only. Licensures and Certifications - None . Preferred

Environment : Required physical, lifting, and sensory capabilities
