We are looking for capable, innovative, and enthusiastic achievers to join our team and grow with us. We are currently seeking a COMOS Administrator for our site in Charleston, TN. What you will do: The engineering software Administrator will provide support to the US Region for WACKER's installation of Siemens COMOS system software which is utilized throughout the engineering lifecycle (from process conceptual design, through detail engineering to plant operation/maintenance). This role will focus on the process & mechanical engineering aspects in COMOS. The role will be an active participant in the development and configuration of the tool for the US Region aligned with corporate counterparts. Administrator will provide in depth training, support to both internal and external users, as well as auditing to ensure compliance to WACKER standards for use. Provide administrative support for COMOS system software. Active participant in development, configuration, and system upgrades - provide US Regional input and test US Specific requirements.
Provide high level support and training to internal and external users of COMOS through direct training. Lead classroom training and the development the training materials. Training includes both the use of the software and the WACKER engineering requirements. Provide extensive support to external users during investment projects.
Audit internal and external users to ensure compliance with WACKER's standards for use of COMOS. Visit external partners (engineering contractor firms) based on investment project needs to ensure COMOS standards are met and provide training and troubleshooting as necessary.
Develop, implement, and support new mobile digital applications & tools in COMOS for areas such I/O checkout, and project field checklists. Support company initiatives for Digital Twin regarding the use of COMOS applications.
Develop standards for use of COMOS tools for the US Region in alignment with corporate COMOS support group and plant engineering. What we need from you: Associate or bachelor's degree in mechanical, Chemical, or Computer-Aided Digital Design
3-5+ years of experience working in a plant or project engineering role
Proficient in detail design engineering (creating/maintain P&IDs, piping design attributes, equipment design, instrument specifications) in a plant or project engineering environment.
Experience utilizing and/or maintaining Engineering tool/object-oriented database (preferably COMOS) in basic engineering, and/or as-built status
Background in a manufacturing or engineering environment in a project engineer or plant engineer role
Utilization and/or author of CAD standards
Highly motivated, self-directed, and able to work independently as well as part of a team
Work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment while staying focused
Solid organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and troubleshoot; effective planning and time management is vital to this role
Strong interpersonal, written & verbal communication, and writing skills
Ability to work well with others and comfortable with asking questions
Problem-solving aptitude
Ability to self-teach and seek out other resources to create solutions in undefined areas
Experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment preferred
Experience with electronic document management systems
Trustworthy to maintain integrity of confidential data and information in sensitive documents
