Job Description:

Position Summary: Primarily responsible for the logistics of International Parts orders, communicating with Astec International customers and Parts Agents, collecting payment and arranging the International transport of the orders as per the destination country specific requirements.
Qualifications:-- Prepare and enter parts orders into Astec system (destination country specific).-- Communicate and coordinate with engineering, purchasing, shop, warehouse and shipping department as needed.-- Work closely with accounting department. Collect payment as needed from customer.-- Responsible for getting freight quotes for international parts shipments and coordinating the shipping process worldwide. This includes moving shipments by air, truck (LTL, full load and "hot shot") and ocean directly with the carriers and/or via Freight Forwarders.-- Responsible for preparing/collecting all international shipping documentation and setting up inspections as needed in accordance with US Regulations and Foreign Requirements. Provide support and assistance to Astec worldwide regions.-- Follow up with customers on all orders shipped (provide tracking details, air waybill details, onboard bill of lading etc.)-- Answer customer calls and emails; help determine customer requirements.-- Work with worldwide customers and agents to resolve problems, i.e., breakdown, wrong part, delays, credits, returns and warranties.-- Handle/setup international returns of parts including necessary documents.-- Travel a week at a time, one to three times a year to call on customers (could be international travel).-- Attend customer service school lunches, dinners, and other functions as necessary (may be extended work hours)-- Crosstrain and be able to assist International Parts Technicians with quote preparation, research and customer handling.-- Assist customers in various languages.-- Assist other departments with simple translation. May be asked to assist when international customers are visiting. -- Follows company policies and procedures at all times.-- Follows proper safety rules and procedures at all times.-- Performs other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLLS and ABILITIES: -- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required.-- Prefer two years post high school education.-- Must be able to speak and write in English (one additional language a plus)-- Mechanical aptitude a plus. Ability to read electrical/mechanical drawings preferred.-- Prefer some knowledge of asphalt equipment.-- Basic computer skills to include MS Word, Excel, and Windows required.-- Knowledge of Oracle a plus-- Good communication skills, ability to handle and resolve customer complaints required.-- Ability to travel internationally as required.-- Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time under pressure required.-- Prefer three to five years of experience in sales and/or fast pace customer service environment -- Machinery related industry preferred.-- Experience working in multiple tasks environment required.-- Must be able to work satisfactorily as a team member.-- Must be able to meet regular attendance requirements.
