Job Summary

This position will be responsible for planning and coordinating comprehensive accounting recording and reporting functions in accordance with instructions/guidance received from North America consolidations personnel. The individual will need the necessary experience and accounting technical ability to plan and effectively manage the performance of the accounting team in support of department deliverables. This person will be responsible for managing the accounting and accounts payable staff, coordinating month-end closing activities, ensuring the completeness of monthly General Ledger recording (inter-companytransactions, bi-weekly payroll, gross sales and related gross-to-net deductions) and reporting activities (Additional Information schedules, reconciliation review and approval, and detailed personnel costs by nature). This role will also serve as a resource for special projects associated with upcoming ERP system conversion. This position will have direct interaction with and coordination responsibility of the Company's financial auditors. As Sanofi CHC is held by a public company, a familiarity and understanding of internal control environments and the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 is necessary.

Role Specific Responsibilities

  • Manage three accounting team members and two A/P staff
  • Coordinate and manage the month-end closing process
  • Be a key liaison for inter-companytransactions associated with the new commercial organization and existing OTC switch projects
  • Ensure timely and accurate General Ledger recording of bi-weekly payroll distributions
  • Prepare support for certain month-end gross-to-net sales accruals
  • Review actual brand spending in comparison to budget/forecast and assess the need for month-end cost accruals
  • Prepare specific month-end Additional Information schedules for reporting to North America consolidations
  • Perform primary review of monthly reconciliation reporting to parent company
  • Coordinate processes for documentation, monitoring and review of internal controls in conjunction with SOX requirements
  • Support ERP system conversion efforts as needed
  • Various projects as needed

    Qualifications

    Education : Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, with a CPA license and/or MBA or MACC a plus.

    Experience: 7 - 10 years of increasing accounting-related experience in a corporate environment, including staff management experience. Financial reporting/reconciliation responsibilities. SOX compliance experience a plus. JDEdwards or SAP ERP experience a plus.

    Professional Skills: Excellent oral/written communication skills. Strong analytical skills within a General Ledger environment. Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Suite products.

    Role Specific Competencies: Must be willing to maintain a flexible schedule at times due to financial reporting deadlines. Must be self-motivated and exhibit the ability to work both in a team and independently. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines.

    Special Requirements: Position is based in Chattanooga, Tennessee at Sanofi CHC corporate office. Travel may be required. _____________________________________________________________________________
