Overview: Piedmont Henry Hospital Medical-Surgical ICU Unit Profile It's Time to Get Better at Piedmont! Join us at Piedmont as we continue to grow! We are a 40 bed Medical/Surgical fast-paced, high acuity Intensive Care Unit staffed with Critical Care Intensivists/APPs 24/7. Also included in our staff mix are Registered nurses, Respiratory Therapists, and Patient Care technicians. Typical nurse to patient ratio is 1:2/ 1:3. 40 Beds - Sepsis and Multi?System Organ failure management - Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) - Targeted Temperature Management (TTM) for post cardiac arrest - Advanced Invasive & Non?Invasive Hemodynamic Monitoring o Arterial lines o Flotrac/EV 1000 o Central Venous Catheters - EKOS Ultrasound Accelerated Thrombolysis - Intra?Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) - Impella - Titration of vasopressors - Titration of continuous paralytics - Use of BIS monitor /TOF monitor - Management of Pacemakers - Complex Respiratory Failure patients requiring advanced ventilatory support - Post-Percutaneous Coronary Intervention - Acute Stroke Care with Alteplase management - Management of Shock to include cardiac, septic, hypovolemic. - Management of neurosurgical patients including care of external ventricular devices - Patients with ARDS requiring manual prone therapy Responsibilities: Coordinates the delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle, as well as operational issues during his/her shift. Provides clinical care as needed when census demands. Communicates patient care, departmental issues, and staff concerns to the appropriate leader(s). Serves as resource for guidance and assistance to the staff. Qualifications: Education Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing Required Bachelor's Degree Preferred Work Experience 1 year of nursing experience in a hospital setting Required 2 years or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting Preferred Licenses and Certifications RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Required BCLS - Basic Life Support Required Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum) ACLS Certification (Cardiac Tele, Critical Care, Surgical Services including Labor and Delivery) Required PALS Certification (Emergency Department) Required Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification - prior to independent chemotherapy administration (Infusion/Oncology) Required NRP by the end of orientation period (Women's Services: Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, NICU, NAT, Nursery) Required AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date (Labor and Delivery) within 1 Year Required PEARS Certification ( at Piedmont Athens Hospital) Required PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services) Required ACLS and PALS Certification (Emergency Department) Required ACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services) Required Experienced Emergency Department nurses will have 30 days to obtain the PALS certification within 30 Days Addendum Business Unit : Company Name: Piedmont Henry Hospital
