Job Description Rheumatologist Opening in Gadsden, AL Location:Gadsden, AL This role involves both outpatient and inpatient careM-F clinic. No call (OP Clinic)Position Overview: Diagnose and manage rheumatic diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, vasculitis, and spondyloarthropathies Perform and interpret diagnostic tests, including joint aspiration and musculoskeletal ultrasounds Develop individualized treatment plans encompassing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies Educate patients and families on disease processes, treatment options, and preventive care Collaborate with other specialists (e.g., orthopedists, nephrologists, dermatologists) as necessary Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education Potential involvement in teaching residents or fellows, depending on practice settingQualifications: MD or DO from an accredited institution Board certified or eligible in Rheumatology Valid, unrestricted state medical license DEA credentialing required for prescribing medications Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Commitment to delivering high-quality, patient-centered carePreferred Qualifications: Experience with Epic EMR system Training in musculoskeletal ultrasound* Academic or teaching experience (if applicable)
