Job Title: RN Clinical Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Inpatient Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Less than 1 year preferred License: RN License (Single State or Multi-State Compact) Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Heparin IV administration experience Description: The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers. They ensure that patients, families, and significant others receive individualized high-quality, safe patient care. The role requires practicing in a clinical environment managed by Nurse Managers and other leaders. The RN Clinical Nurse is guided by a professional practice model and evidence-based practice. All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by the Professional Nurse Practice Act. They implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards as per the American Nurses Association. As a member of the patient services team, the RN Clinical Nurse upholds the voice of the patient. This includes adhering to system policies and procedures while supporting service excellence goals. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: The RN performs the nursing process in the delivery of clinical care. This involves assessment, diagnosis, identification of outcomes, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Evidence-based practice is utilized ensuring that care is individualized. The RN coordinates care through effective partnerships, recognizing that caring is central to achieving optimal patient outcomes. Patient-centered care is provided, consistent with population-specific characteristics such as age and disease. Collaboration with the patient and significant others is emphasized, along with keeping them informed. The RN practices using current clinical standards and ensures the delivery of safe, quality patient care. Demonstrating teamwork and collaboration promotes a respectful, inclusive clinical environment. Participation in performance improvement initiatives and research is encouraged. The RN provides mentorship for other nursing staff and students to ensure workforce quality. Required Minimum Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing or graduation from an accredited school of nursing is required. A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred. Required Minimum Experience: Completion of an accredited nursing program with required clinical hours is necessary. Direct patient care experience is preferred. Required Minimum Skills: Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and customer service skills are required.
