Apply Today!Job Summary and QualificationsThe Laboratory Manager ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, hospital policies and laboratory procedures. What you will do in this role:
  • Your role provides technical supervision for laboratory staff.
  • You will have direct supervisory responsibilities of laboratory staff.
  • Your role is responsible for daily oversight of laboratory operations, including expense and labor management.
  • Your role is responsible for reviewing and updating policies and procedures per regulatory requirements.
  • You will keep Director appropriately informed of daily activities and developments.
  • As staffing requires, you will participate in specimen collection when required according to test requested, either directly by venipuncture or skin puncture; maintain responsibility for patient identification, specimen labeling and collection verification, or instructing patients or other healthcare providers in collection and preservation techniques for urine, sputum, stool, scrapings, or other specimens for analysis. What qualifications you will need:
    • Graduate from a NCCLS accredited Medical Technologist program or equivalent.
    • BS degree required
    • TN State General Supervisor's License / MT (ASCP)
    • Five years' clinical, Four years' supervisory experience required.
    • Interpersonal skills to successfully interact with all co-workers, staff, patients, patient families and vendors
    • Proficient computer skills, i.e. ability to utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and other programs for creating reports
    • Medi-tech experience preferred This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved).Parkridge Medical Center is a 270+ bed hospital. We are near downtown Chattanooga. We feature comprehensive diagnostic, medical, and surgical services. These services include cardiovascular surgery and cancer treatment. These services include intensive care, orthopedic and spine surgery, and rehabilitation. The facility includes a state of the art neurosurgery program. Patients also have access to OB-GYN services. Patients have access to a level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
