Responsibilities Civil or Mechanical Engineer to provide technical
oversight and management of engineering services in support of the
evaluation, design and construction of ash handling and storage
facilities, design and construction of water and wastewater
treatment systems, modification of dam structures and other civil

-at 11:59 PM EST Position Purpose: This position provides technical
oversight and is responsible for ensuring ash handling systems
(mechanical/electrical engineered features) or ash storage
facility/landfill (civil engineered features) engineering
activities that are performed by others are performed correctly and
in accordance with TVA requirements. Serve as technical project
leader for the specifications, methods, design, plant interface,
construction, QA/QC requirements, and documentation for new ash
handling systems, ash storage facilities or other civil
features.
Supervisory Responsibility: Technical oversight for various
engineering firms performing engineering projects, feasibility
studies, evaluations, design/construction drawings, CQA plans,
etc.
Budget Responsibility: -
Principal Accountabilities:
Minimum Requirements:
Education. - -B.S. degree in mechanical engineering, electrical
engineering, civil engineering or equivalent engineering
degree.
Experience. - -8 or more years of material handling system
design/technical experience. Seven years of ash handling system
design experience is preferred or ten plus years of civil project
work including: earthwork, surveying, direction of civil design
teams, construction oversight, storm water controls, environmental
requirements, QA/QC requirements, etc. Landfill, environmental
remediation experience is preferred.
Certification/License, etc - -Project Manager certification is
desirable. Professional Engineering license or Master's degree in
engineering is desirable.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - -Demonstrated experience with ash
handling systems or other material handling systems or civil
projects. Have strong understanding in multi-discipline engineering
roles. Have demonstrated the ability to lead project teams.
Utilizes proper decision making techniques. Good communication
skills. Understanding of pertinent environmental regulations.
Candidate may be required to obtain and maintain a security
