What will a Director of Intake and Workforce Preparationdo?
The Director of Intake & Workforce Preparation is responsible for
recruiting, welcoming, and evaluating all participants, who may
have barriers to employment, beginning their relationship with the
Workforce Development & Community Services (WDCS) Department at the
Goodwill Industries of the Greater Chattanooga Area (GIGCA). The
Director oversees the participants progress throughout their
experience at GIGCA and ensures each participant accesses
appropriate training and resources. The Director ensures each
participant develops a service plan and receives the support they
need now and as their needs evolve and emerge through effective
leadership of their direct service personnel reports and through
collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provide leadership and management to direct service personnel
and GIGCA participants.
- Responsible for maintaining consistent enrollment of potential
participants for the WDCS Department through recruitment and
outreach.
- Manages referrals from and relationships with contract
agencies.
- Supervises external referrals for participants as
needed.
- Oversees the intake and orientation processes for all
participants.
- Ensures each participant is evaluated and assessed and the
results of those evaluations and assessments are analyzed and
incorporated into participants service plans.
- Responsible for ensuring each participant develops a service
plan that includes goals and objectives with clear and attainable
target dates. Ensures regular reviews of the service plan with
participants.
- Coordinate with the Marketing Department to create printed
handouts and materials as needed.
- Responsible for Job Connection Centers operations.
- Maintains positive partnerships with GIGCA Opportunity Campus
partners.
- Evaluate and monitor outcomes of participants and department
and analyzes those results to contribute to the continuous
improvement of services, programs, and staff performance.
- Works with departmental and organizational management in
performance evaluation of participants, programs, and
department.
- Contributes to the development of the annual budget and ensures
adherence to its parameters.
- Effectively organizes and maintains confidentiality of
participant files and department documents in all formats.
- Ensure the adherence to CARF and other relevant accreditation
standards in all program and participant services.
- Collaborates with Curriculum & Instruction to enroll
participants in training courses and opportunities.
- Collaborates with Career Services for job readiness and
placement services.
- Oversees site set up and maintenance for participants
internally at GIGCA-owned or -operated sites. Ensures safety,
security, and optimization externally at community partner-owned
sites.
- Implements strategic plan tactics as directed.
- Regularly reports accurate and timely outcomes and performance
to management and stakeholders.
- Travels frequently throughout the GIGCA region to Goodwill
owned- and operated-sites as well as partners locations.
- Through words and actions support GIGCAs Mission, Vision, and
Values; furthermore, actions and decisions will align with
organizational guiding principles.
- Maintain agency, employee, and participants confidentiality.
Violation of confidentiality may be cause for termination.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QualificationsKey Knowledge and Experience:
- A Bachelors or masters degree in vocational rehabilitation,
social work, education, or similar field is preferred. Commensurate
experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Experience serving youth and adults with barriers is
preferred.
- Management experience is strongly preferred.
- Budgeting experience is preferred.
- Must be an engaging and cross-functional team player who
desires to positively impact individuals and the community and
create significant change.
- Must have effective problem-solving skills and the ability to
improvise, adapt, and overcome.
- Must have excellent oral, written, and inter-personal
communications.
- Must have a good driving record with a valid drivers
license.
