Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
The ITG Project Manager will work closely with the assigned project
team to ensure the projects assigned to he or she are completed on
time and on budget. This position will serve as the primary
customer contact for the entire lifecycle of a project, including
engineering, equipment builds, installation and commissioning.
Additionally, he or she will act as a liaison between ITG clientele
and company departments such as Engineering, Manufacturing,
Quality, Purchasing and Shipping. The Project Manager will assist
in the allocation of job tasks during a given project and see that
they are followed through in an efficient manner. It is also
expected that he or she is also able to assist and lead in the
development of quotes and estimates for future projects as the need
arises.
The Project Manager requires the ability to manage multiple
projects simultaneously, workload will always be balanced between
to the best of our ability within the project management team based
on experience, project value, required focus and timing. When
planned, the Project Manager will travel to the customer facility
to help facilitate and manage the installation and startup of a
given project, during this time he or she must still be able to
coordinate and communicate effectively the other projects assigned
to he or she concurrently through email, phone calls and video
conferences as needed.
EDUCATION:
Required: A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical,
Engineering Management, or a related field.
Preferred: Formal training in Project Management.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: 3+ years of project management or engineering experience
in an automated engineering or related field.
Preferred: 5+ years project management or engineering experience in
an automated engineering or related field.
POSITION REQUIREMENT(S): Specialized
Skills/License/Certification
Required:
Time Management Skills: Understanding of how to adjust deliverables
and priorities based on shipping dates, customer needs, and other
deadlines. The ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously
without losing focus on concurrent deadlines. Experience organizing
and setting project deadlines.
Effective Communication: Ability to actively listen and communicate
with ITG personnel to accurately relay project updates to
customers. Taking time to ensure information is clearly understood
and asking questions as appropriate.
Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: The ability to diagnose and
troubleshoot a complex problem during the production or
installation process.
Technical Software: Knowledge of software such as Microsoft Word,
Outlook, Project, or other programs used in project management.
Capable of reading and interpreting products drawings created in
either AutoCad or SolidWorks design software.
Shipping and Logistics: Ability to create an organized structure
for maintaining product documentation according to function,
project, or customer. Knowledge of "best practices" for storing
confidential information.
Administration and Management: Knowledge of business and management
principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation,
production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
Engineering and Technology: Knowledge of the practical application
of engineering science and technology. This includes applying
principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and
production of automated equipment.
Preferred:
Project Management certification
Experience with Microsoft Project
Experience in project management for automated equipment
production.
CORE COMPETENCIES (Essential Job Functions):
Review customer specifications, project quotes, and purchase orders
for accuracy and completeness.
Work with ITG Engineering Manager to review mechanical and
electrical designs for accuracy according to customer
specifications.
Resolve problems for customers in the process of completing
production of projects.
Communicate potential change orders throughout the project timeline
to ITG Management so they can be vetted and negotiated with
customer.
Analyze project revenue, cost, and profitability, including
material and labor costs against project quote. Resolve
discrepancies and report on profitability of projects.
Follow status on projects, keeping customers informed, and assist
in determining completion times between on assigned projects based
on current workload.
Coordinate production schedules with manufacturing areas based on
anticipated equipment delivery dates.
Maintain communication with Purchasing and Shipping department and
adjust production priorities based on component delivery dates.
Coordinate travel to customer facilities during equipment
installation and commissioning
Maintain and update all project/contract documentation and
schedules.
Handle issues with damaged equipment, determining necessary actions
to rectify problems.
Schedule, review and ensure completion of customer and end user
testing.
Perform any additional duties as requested by customer or
management.
