Job Description:
The Environmental Health & Safety Manager will be responsible
for 4 separate plants within multiple states. The manager will also
be partnering with the site operations team to execute company EHS
policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local and regional
regulations. By leveraging lean principles and Kaizans, you will
lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and
ergonomic risk in our processes to ensure a safe and healthful
working environment for our Team Members. A successful EHS manager
will demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the
Operations Teams and inspire change through providing comprehensive
risk assessments and EHS data analysis. The EHS Manager must be an
effective communicator and send clear, concise, and consistent
messages, both verbally and in writing. You will instruct and train
Operations Leaders in M&M EHS policies and assist the
operations site teams in incorporating our EHS standards at their
plants. You will work to identify best practices and incorporate
these standard methodologies into our standards to continuously
improve the EHS landscape. The EHS Manager will possess excellent
EHS program knowledge as well as workplace and ergonomic knowledge
and be able demonstrate this expertise when working with
Operations. You will need to create leadership plans for the sites
and be able to communicate your vision with all levels of
management and team members. You will assist with establishing key
performance indicators and ensure that the plants are executing EHS
core competencies. Job Requirements Minimum Qualifications: -- A
minimum 6 years of growing responsibilities in EHS programs in
manufacturing and production operations. -- Experience implementing
lean principles and process improvement in an operational
environment. -- Experience in leading multiple sites. -- Bachelor's
degree in safety and environmental related field required. --
Experience with federal and state OHSA programs and EHS regulatory
requirements. -- Must be capable of using proactive interpersonal
skills to effectively communicate with all levels of employees
within the company, as well as outside
consultants/contractors.Preferred Qualifications -- Experience with
a fast paced/growing manufacturing processes with at least 250 team
members. -- Master's degree Preferred -- Certified EHS Professional
-- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including with
plant managers. -- Must be able to work independently as well as in
a collaborative team setting. -- Must possess the mental and
physical capabilities necessary to perform the job duties. -- Must
be detail oriented, with the ability to handle multiple tasks
simultaneously and have a high level of organization as well as
demonstrate excellent project management skills. -- Must be
available and on call for safety emergencies. Job
Requirements:Essential Job Duties include but are not limited to
the following:-- Possess a thorough understanding--of
local/regional regulations and company policy.-- Provide guidance
and oversight to ensure compliance to all applicable M&M
Industries Policies.-- Measure sites performance against published
requirements in EHS policies. For all deficiencies, identify a plan
for the plants to implement and fix all identified deficiencies.--
Deliver on-time and quality projects to Operations.-- Analyze EHS
metrics and review incident weekly and monthly incident trends to
discover trends to rationalize the allocation of appropriate
resources to areas where the EHS risk is highest.-- Perform
frequent plant EHS audits to identify all non-compliance equipment
and/or processes at the site. Implement solutions to eliminate
exposure to these risks and prevent injury at other M&M
Plants.-- Lead and mentor supervisors and safety team members.--
Spend time on the plant shop floor and seek input from team
members, safety members and leaders on EHS program improvement
opportunities. Ensure open communication on status of progress and
resolution against these suggestions.-- Ensure site leadership and
team members are trained and knowledgeable of their
responsibilities under each policy. Audit the quality, delivery,
and effectiveness of all required EHS training.
