Job Description:

Job Title: Chief Executive Officer Supervision: Directly responsible to the Little Miss Mag Board of Directors Supervises All Employees with the Following Direct Reports: --- Director of Early Learning --- Director of Center Operations Summary The Chief Executive Officer provides overall organizational leadership in collaboration with LMM---s Leadership Team of talented, passionate, and knowledgeable staff. The CEO, in collaboration with the Leadership Team & Board of Directors, engages in strategic visioning and planning, pursues innovation and organizational growth, and bolsters community awareness of and support for Little Miss Mag as an important resource and industry leader within our community and state---s early childhood ecosystem. The CEO has primary responsibility for fundraising and strategic external communications. Primary Responsibilities Organizational Leadership: --- Maintain an organizational climate and culture of excellence, inclusion, respect and accountability. --- Work closely with the Board of Directors and leadership staff to support planning and implementation of strategic plan goals and action items. --- Maintain oversight of all Center operations, in collaboration with the LMM Leadership Team with support and oversight from the Board of Directors, to foster and sustain excellence in serving children, families, and the community. --- Manage LMM Leadership Team including direct reports (high-level oversight of primary responsibilities) and manage staff resources of Little Miss Mag. This includes policy and procedure management and oversight of staff selection, onboarding, establishment of goals and performance expectations, annual review of direct reports, ongoing training, corrective actions, and if necessary --- termination. --- Enforce existing policies of the organization. Identify and develop, with the Board of Directors, new policies and procedures as needed. --- Assign Leadership Team members to participate in Board committee meetings as appropriate. --- Ensure compliance with all state and federal reporting. Fund Development & Strategic External Communications: --- Initiate, plan and implement all aspects of fundraising, strategic communications, and marketing to ensure continued and increase support from the community, the United Way, and other stakeholders for Little Miss Mag. --- Develop and manage an annual Development Plan comprising a comprehensive fund development strategy that includes annual giving, major giving, grants, and fundraising events. --- Engage with board members and volunteers for prospective donor discovery, engagement, and stewardship. --- Identify organizational needs and engage with external assistance for development (e.g., interns, part-time staff, consultants, etc.). --- Manage correspondence with and stewardship of current and prospective donors. --- Initiate and oversee development and distribution of marketing materials and messages including social media outreach, fundraising / campaign materials, annual fund mailing materials, and others. --- Oversee implementation and assessment of large and small fundraising events. --- Cultivate, solicit, and steward funds from local foundations and organizations via grant proposals and timely reports and ongoing interactions with funders. Organizational Financial Planning & Management: --- Prepare and present, in conjunction with the Leadership Team and finance committee, monthly finance reports --- Manage timely billing related to CACFP, Certificates, & Early Learning Scholarships on a monthly basis --- Manage the collections process for overdue parent fees --- Approve program purchases and expenditures and oversees planning for routine and non-routine maintenance in conjunction with the Director of Center Operations. Board Engagement: --- Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors, serving as an ex officio member of all Board committees and engage appropriate leadership team members in supporting board committees. --- Maintain open communication with the Board of Directors. Incorporate and maximize the talents available on the Board. --- Prepare and present monthly CEO report for Board of Directors. Community Engagement: --- Cultivate professional relationships with stakeholders, both current and potential, including early childhood and related agencies in the Chattanooga area in order to make proper referrals, engage partners, and inform planning and strategic directions. Education Experience --- Bachelor---s Degree (Master---s Degree preferred) in Nonprofit Management, Human Services, Education, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field --- At least two years--- experience in a senior leadership role within a similar organization, nonprofit, or early childhood education environment. Qualifications --- Passion for serving families and addressing the early learning needs of children. --- Capacity to provide systems-level assessment and foster ongoing organizational innovation and improvement. --- Growth-oriented mindset with a strong capacity to build and empower leadership team members to maximize organizational effectiveness. --- Demonstrated capacity to raise funds from individual donors and philanthropic foundations. --- Financial management capacity and experience with using financial/bookkeeping software. --- Experience in managing staff, engaging partners and volunteers, and collaborating with Board members. --- Organization and management of multiple initiatives, tasks, and projects with varied deadlines and timeframes. --- Written and verbal communication skills including accuracy and persuasion. --- Willingness to learn new things and take initiative for professional development and growth. --- Ability to interact and speak with diverse groups of people promoting LMM---s mission. --- Experience with using typical business programs and software such as Microsoft Office products; ability to take initiative to explore and learn technology resources to support the LMM mission. --- Ability to pass a State of Tennessee background check required.
