Role Summary: This role is responsible for the cross-functional management, within Powertrain FG, of all activities related to adapting VW standards to the NAR Market. The Powertrain FG Lead is responsible for the strategic direction and leadership for a team of 9 specialists in the areas of; Technically Manage NAR Powertrain Components within the Project House - Value Engineering Organization Lead in the identifying & implementing cost reduction opportunities Introduce new NAR Suppliers/Technology to Volkswagen Achieve annual cost down tasks, as agreed with VW AG Board Responsible for ensuring sufficient supplier and competitor benchmarking workshops Role Responsibilities: Cost Reduction Management - 40> Cross-functional coordination of all Powertrain PKO/FMK (R&D, Purchasing, Sales, Quality, Production, and Logistics) Drive all Volkswagen activates within the NAR Region and Volkswagen AG Comprehensive understanding of materials and manufacturing processes of automotive Powertrain parts within the NAR market Develop concepts that satisfy NAR consumer preferences and expectations Optimize car lines to ensure appropriate content, maximizing financial return Ensure frequent utilization of supplier workshops to constantly generate savings ideas Perform competitor parts and systems teardowns and benchmarking. Systems & Process Optimization - (30> ) Direct all approved ideas with Product Planning Ensure that PK Online and other systems are accurate and updated frequently Secure SOP of ideas and drive the implementation process Ensure that VW NAR performance requirements conform to the market Creation of design catalog that serve as the template and guide for future projects and models within the region Organization & Budget - (20> ) Responsible for the establishment and management of annual Overhead (SGK) budget for the Department ($400,000) Coordinate 'Regionalization' of Powertrain Project House and Value Engineering in North America Assign individual and team targets, in line with Department Objectives Assess work results and provide feedback to Direct Report Innovation and Technology - (10> ) Attend trade shows, symposiums and events; such as CES, SEMA, IAA, and NAIAS to keep abreast of the latest trends in the industry and FG. Develop relationships with Colleges, Universities and Innovation Centers to identify areas of possible collaboration. LI-RA1 Education : Bachelor degree in Business or Engineering required Master's degree in Business or Engineering Years of experience : 10 years automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier experience. General Skills: Required Advanced Microsoft Office user Catia, Solidworks, NX or Autocad Analytical and conceptual thinking using reasoning and logic, creativity and strategic orientation Communication skills - interpersonal, oral, written and presentational Integration - bringing together people, processes or systems Influencing and negotiation skills Demonstrated Leadership capability Resource and organization development experience General Skills: Desired German, Spanish or Chinese language skills Leader of cost reduction activity with automotive OEM LI-RA1
