Title: Powersports Accessory Installation/ Apprentice Technician
Department: Service / Sales Support Reports To: Service Manager or
Sales Manager FLSA Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Position Summary:
The Powersports Accessory Installation/ Apprentice Technician is
responsible for the setup, customization, and preparation of new
and used powersports vehicles for retail delivery. This includes
installing accessories, performing pre-delivery inspections (PDIs),
and ensuring all units meet the dealership’s quality standards
before reaching the showroom or customer. The technician may also
perform light service work on customer units when sales-related
work is not available. Key Responsibilities: Perform PDI
(Pre-Delivery Inspections) on new and used powersports vehicles
(motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, PWCs, etc.). Install OEM and aftermarket
accessories such as windshields, lighting, luggage systems, tires,
exhausts, performance parts, audio systems, and protective
equipment. Ensure all accessories are installed to manufacturer
specifications and safety standards. Work closely with the sales
team to meet deadlines for unit delivery and showroom readiness.
Perform minor repairs, services, and adjustments on sales or
customer units as needed. Detail and clean vehicles prior to
delivery or showroom display. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe
work area. Accurately document work performed and parts used on
repair orders. Assist with inventory control of accessory and setup
materials. Support dealership events and product promotions as
required. Qualifications: Minimum 1–2 years of mechanical
experience in powersports, automotive, or related industries
preferred. Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and
hydraulic systems . Ability to read and interpret service manuals
and installation instructions. Attention to detail and pride in
craftsmanship. Excellent time management and ability to work
independently or as part of a team. Must have a valid driver’s
license (motorcycle endorsement preferred). Basic computer and
documentation skills. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and
move powersports vehicles and components up to 75 lbs. Frequent
standing, bending, and use of hand tools. Comfortable working in a
