Duration: Contract to Hire
Rate: $55 - $65 HR

Job Purpose
The Network Engineer will ensure network configuration, installation, availability, and scalability to individual requirements, contribute to Client -s network strategy, consult and support IT teams as well as business units around all network related initiatives and projects.

The Network Engineer will act as a network technology representative in all portfolio projects, guiding stakeholders to design their requirements in line with global technology strategy.

The Network Engineer will be part of the enterprise networking team and ensure that projects and initiatives align with network standards and strategies. It is important that they can work independently with minimal direction and take accountability. The Network Engineer will also be part of Client -s 2 nd Level Support and escalation process, with focus on network technologies.

Job Context & Major Challenges

Deliver a world class network service delivery, to allow Client to leverage latest technologies as these align with industry best practices. Enable Client to improve and maintain a network infrastructure, focusing on modern manufacturing industry and have a good understanding of IT/OT services. Network lifecycle management of Client Standard equipment Maintain valid Service Contracts on all equipment
Plan and process replacements according to manufacturers/Clients life cycle announcements


Strong analytical network troubleshooting skills and proficiency with packet capture tools.
Participate in ongoing demand analysis and network improvement initiatives.
Optimization, Management and Troubleshooting LAN (Cisco and Cisco Meraki), VLAN, STP/RSTP, DNS, DHCP, IPAM and L1/L2 issues.
Wireless LAN (Cisco and Cisco Meraki)
Firewalls (Fortinet)
Data connections (SD-WAN, MPLS, VPN)


Plan, present and process network infrastructure initiatives
Maintaining and implementation of new network standards and processes
Management of medium sized local network projects

Accountability
Responsible for the availability of Client -s network infrastructure, contribution on solution design as well as its adherence. Contribute to the definition and documentation of all policies and procedures, standards, design, and business rules related to network technologies.
Avoid technical debt by developing reusable and scalable solutions.
Improve and maintain performance, security, reliability, operations, technology, and interoperability requirements to produce high level and scalable design deliverables.
Contribute to enterprise network technical strategy and define and document solution architecture(s) including technical designs and diagrams.
Design and deploy dynamically scalable and highly available services using Client -s network standards, to enable Client -s cloud strategy.
Participate in every aspect of the development and operational areas and design cloud network connectivity architecture.
Create conceptual, logical, and physical design for network solutions for infrastructure and platforms.
Research, analyze, recommend, and select technical approaches for solving difficult and challenging development and integration problems.

Education & Experience Bachelor's degree within Information Technology field of study, or equivalent work experience
Production level experience migrating and deploying current Client standard solutions.
5+ years of experience with Meraki/Cisco technologies and services such as switching and routing, firewall management, TCP/IP networking, VLAN Management, LAN/Wireless LAN, Spanning Tree issue resolution.
Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment including Switches, Wireless Controllers, Access points, Firewalls, DNS and DHCP.
Strong experience with CISCO Meraki Switching: STP, RSTP, MST, LAN tuning/protection, VTP, VLANs and 802.1Q trunk, strong understanding of MAC /CAM/ ARP tables is a must.
Proficient with addressing mechanisms (DNS, DHCP, IPAM, or similar), and with L1 technologies (SMF, MMF, DWDM, Transceivers)
Proficient in packet analysis (Wireshark), Troubleshoot packet decode on TCP and UDP, Experience with performance analysis, troubleshooting and remediation techniques.
In-depth experience with cabling technologies - Category 5, Category 6A, Single & Multi-Mode Fiber
Deep product knowledge and understanding of Meraki/Cisco product features including Disaster Recovery, Internet of Things, Monitoring, and remote Management.
Knowledge of ITIL Change & Configuration Management.
3+ years of experience architecting and developing complex high availability network designs.
Exceptional problem-solving and crisis management skills and ability to work independently/within a team.
Able to communicate clearly and convey necessary information.
Able to constructively work under stress and pressure when faced with high workloads and deadlines.
Able to independently identify challenges and demonstrate approach to solutions.
Ability to travel within the U.S. (0-30%)
Ability to travel globally as needed (0-10%)
