global Gestamp family!The Expectations:Manage all robotic
processes, robot safety, robotic training, and any other
robotic-related activities in the facility. Be the direct point of
contact and expert-level support person for facility regarding
robotics.Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate all robotic process changes and
improvement activities in the plant.
- Performs robotic back-ups as required
- Aids in the development of continuous improvement activities
within the automation group.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and program-related
robotic issues, including auxiliary equipment
- Utilize robotic simulation software as necessary to plan
changes to process.
- Perform audits to robotic equipment and programs as
required
- Complete responsibility in robotic safety procedures and
setup.
- Provides guidance on preventative maintenance procedures for
robots.
- Monitors line cycle time and directly responsible for machine
process time in the line.
- Develop the robotics training program for maintenance employees
and administer testing as required
- Develops and executes process changes for robotic processes
with support from process engineers.
- Perform basic, intermediate and high level programming as
required
- Perform setup of robot safety protocols (DCS programming) as
required
- Consult with customers, supplier and OA team members
- Perform PLC troubleshooting / programming as necessary
- Supports Operational Performance Metrics and meets targets for
improvement
- Performs special projects and other duties as assigned by the
Manager.
- Participation in the Layered Process Audit schedule, safety
audits, department meetings and corrective action meetings as
required.
- Participation in the Internal ISO/TS 16949 Audit schedule
(applies only to certified ISO/TS 16949 internal auditors)
- Participation and cooperation in answering questions and
providing information for internal and external audits regarding or
related to ISO/TS 16949, VDA 6.3, and customer standards.The Must
Haves:
- Certifications in robotics (programming, mechanical,
electrical, etc---, FANUC preferred)
- Experience in supervising other employees; including training &
development
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on related experience required,
previous integration experience preferred
- Extensive knowledge of robotic systems and processes - MIG/MAG
welding, spot welding, material handling, adhesive, etc---
- Ability to demonstrate expert-level knowledge in field
- Exposure to specific systems and/or equipment in a
manufacturing environment (automotive preferred)
- Expert level knowledge of Fanuc robotics
- Ability to write programs from scratch, background edit, and
perform touch-ups
- Ability to master - calibrate robots, (single axis or full zero
master)
- Ability to understand and configure robot I/O (Digital, Group,
User, Safety, Etc---)
- Ability to modify and setup DCS boxes and safety checks in
robot
- Ability to modify and setup User and Tool Frames, TCP, Payload,
etc---
- Familiarity with simulation software (Roboguide)
- Familiarity with communication protocols and setup (Ethernet
IP, device NET, etc---)
- Ability to load PAC codes, perform software upgrades
etc---
- Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware issues, including
controller components (amplifiers, CPU, etc)
- Strong understanding of automotive manufacturing processes
within a welding environment
- Strong mechanical aptitude, ability to replace robot motors,
gears, encoders, etc---
- Strong people skills with a willingness to empower the team,
and help out whenever requested
- Clear understanding of Lean Principals and Tools
- Ability, willingness and patience to train and develop talent
