GRANT FUNDED POSITION LOCATED IN CHATTANOOGA, TN JOB
SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Financial Coordinator assists
the Administrative Director COM Chattanooga in directing and
managing the administrative needs of the graduate medical education
departments, finances including preparing and monitoring resident
reimbursement, resident payroll and personnel on boarding forms and
data entry and monthly verification, verification of master
rotation schedule to ensure compliance with CMS reimbursement in a
timely manner. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Prepares budget
development and monitors the funds for Graduate Medical Education
(GME). Manages accounts payables and receivables/purchases.
Determines sources of funding and maintains appropriate records.
Supervises the electronic payment of invoices, justification of
sole source services through Grants and Contracts, purchasing, and
electronic requisitions; manages procurement card processing to
ensure guidelines are followed, and timely processing of charges.
Prepares probable budgets. Responds to special requests on matters
relating to departmental financial operations and contract
sponsors. Manages residents health, disability, and life insurance
plans in conjunction with the contract vendors and UTHSC Memphis
payroll office. Assists the GME Office in organizing and
coordinating new student orientation; completes payroll onboarding
process for all new residents and fellows; enters annual resident
pay increases and terminations. Orients new residents on financial
policies, including travel, purchasing, and other expenditures.
Provides information to the Assistant Dean on financial and
administrative matters relating to GME. Manages GME website updates
and edits content as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree. (TRANSCRIPT
REQUIRED) EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of professional experience in
a business setting; OR Master s Degree and one (1) year related
financial or business administration experience with budgeting, and
fiscal planning; OR a combination of education and relevant work
experience to equal eleven (11) years (11) years. (Experience in
higher education is preferred.) KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Skill in prioritizing, problem-solving, and presentations. Ability
to communicate effectively and interact with a diverse population.
Analytical ability to perform varied responsibilities. Ability to
work independently and have excellent time management. Ability to
understand, follow, and apply processes and procedures in a
state-wide educational system and other agencies. Ability to work
with the highest level of integrity and discretion. Ability to work
in a team environment. WORK SCHEDULE: This position may be
occasionally required to work evenings. The University of Tennessee
