Job Description:
The Controller role is for managing the activities of the CFO
Services Team. The ideal candidate will be a strong individual
contributor, while providing exceptional outsourced controllership
and advisory services as well as strategic direction to various
clients. Minimum Education & Training Required:
- Certified Public Accountant - must be current. -Candidates will
not be considered for this position if they do not have an active
CPA License.
- Strong experience with QuickBooks and/or other accounting
software packages preferred - - - - - - - - -Minimum Bachelor's
Degree Essential Skills & Experience:
- Extensive knowledge in accounting and tax for businesses in the
under $20M market
- 7 years accounting experience, including 2 years public
accounting experience and 3 years supervisory experience
- Ability to multitask and set daily, weekly and monthly
priorities
- High degree of computer literacy, including extensive knowledge
in Microsoft Office, and specifically Excel
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- GAAP Experience -Essential Job Requirements and Duties:
- Maintains contact with client throughout the year; possesses a
thorough knowledge of the client and all facets of client's
business.
- Maintains familiarity with qualifications of all team members,
reviews team assignments for appropriateness.
- Assumes responsibilities for project management.
- Monitors budgets.
- Supervises team of Managed Accounting Staff and provides
on-the-job training; reviews workpapers and reports prepared by
staff.
- Anticipates problem areas and questions that will arise during
the course of a project.
- Keeps Principal informed of all-important developments;
analyzes problems and recommends solutions.
- Ensures that financial statements are prepared in accordance
with professional and Firm standards.
- Communicates progress of projects, problems, and resolutions to
client.
- Works to develop responsible, trained staff by assisting in
performance evaluations.
- Possesses knowledge of the Firm's philosophy and its opinions
on financial matters.
- Demonstrated ability to develop new business for the Firm
- Develops relationships with clients and provides high quality
client service. Adding value to clients' businesses is an integral
part of the job requirements. Begins to learn cross-selling
opportunities and refer those opportunities to appropriate
professionals within the firm.
- Accepts responsibility for accuracy of data entry,
accumulation, and maintenance in all aspects of client
deliverables.
- Participates in and embraces firm initiatives.
- Acts as an engaging leader with the ability to communicate
effectively with team members and clients
- Participates in Firm's practice development efforts including
expanding services to clients
- Prepares other reports and projects as requested from time to
time by Partners
- Understands the Firm's business on a day-to-day basis: billings
and collections, proper utilization of staff, Firm policies and
procedures, etc.
- Assumes individual responsibility to learn all new technology
introduced by the Firm as appropriate for service/practice
area.
- Such other duties as may be assigned.
